I have been busy!

I did get a job.  It's casual/seasonal and is supposed to end on Friday.  Consequently, I have not been doing much in my closet. However, I do share and follow everyday.  I share the items in my closet art least three times too.

I also auditioned for a play last night.  I have not been on stage since well before Covid.  At the moment, I can't remember my last adventure on the boards, as they say.

All of those fabulous items I found two weeks ago at the SPCA thrift shop are mostly waiting for me to take pictures and get them listed.

I have added the wedding dress, prom gown, and dance dresses.  I've also had a few sales recently totalling almost $200!

So, all in all, Life is Good.

The thrift adventure continues.

Can you believe how fortunate I have been this week?

I went to the S.P.C.A thrift store 4 times.

They ran a $2 sale every day, a different category each day.

In total, I bought 82 items, from shoes to gowns, for$126.40.

Each item cost me $1.55.  No telling what i will be able to get for them.

One item is a wedding dress that still has the tags and was $650 originally!

I even bought several beanie babies! I can't wait to research them!

I won't need to source for quite some time!!!!!

It's not the lottery but it's a real thrill.

UNBELIEVABLE HAUL!  Thrift thrill!

I am so thrilled!  Look what I got for $30!

Not everything in the picture!

But, here's what I did find:

1 Wedding Dress with tags!

1 Prom Dress with tags!

7 Dresses

2 tops

5 pair of shoes

3 cosmetic bags

Our local SPCA sponsored thrift store (all sales go to help all the fur babies) is celebrating their 2nd aniversary by offering different $2.00 items every day this week.

Sunday, it was shoes.  All 5 pair are new or nearly new with no scratches or issues!

Today, Tuesday, was all dresses

Wednesday is tops and later this week all bottoms!

So, I did a little research and the wedding dress had a list price of $650!  I will probably list it around $300 even though it is new with tags.

I can use the cosmetic bags as giveaways when I do a live show.

This is the kind of thrift find I have hoped to have for years.

I will sell these items.  It will definitely help bring down my costs and contribute to my gross income!

In other news, I do have that job.  Turns out I do not have to be on camera and am not restricted as to when I put in my time except it has to be between 7am and 9pm.

Ain't life grand?

So, no job.

Yes, once again I chickened out. I looked into my new job conditions and decided it was not for me.  It is online but there is someone supervising that you are scoring the tests during the work day and your camera has to be on! So, nope! Can't do that.

This makes Poshmark that much more important to my livelihood. I think I would rather sell my items in a live show than have someone watching me grade student work.

My previous job that went away due to AI was online but I had all the freedom I wanted because I did my job and did not need to be supervised.  We had zoom meetings but no one asked me to keep my camera on.  And, no one supervised my work while I was grading!

I need to list a few items!  Have a good rest of the week.

Things may get busy soon!

So, I have a part-time job.  Training starts tomorrow.  It seems very doable and it is online so I can work from home which is good for an old lady like me.  I am always nervous about things getting underway smoothly.  Tech stuff and having no one to ask for help except by email is challenging sometimes.

I now have a tablet and am coming closer to doing a live show.  I am still a bit scared to be on camera which is probably silly because no one knows me and who cares about how I look when it's the items for sale that matter.

I've had a busy day so far and it will continue to be busy.  Started my day watching tennis.  Took a shower. I have banking to do.  Then, I am going to treat myself to a mani/pedi.  It's spring and it's time. And, I will go to both Goodwills just because.

Before I leave home, I am going to take pictures and have things ready to add listings.  On Wednesdays, Poshmark gives monetary prizes to poshers who have listed.  Three poshers are selected at random every hour.

Another tennis match and away we go.

Price of eggs still got you down? Buying clothing secondhand can save you money and help save in many other ways too!

What are the advantages to recycling clothing?

I Googled and here's my paraphrased version of what AI provided:

"Secondhand clothes offer a sustainable, cost-effective, and unique way to shop, reducing waste, saving money, and allowing for unique style choices, while also supporting local businesses and communities."
Environmental Benefits:
  • 1. It extends the lifespan of each item keeping it from ending up in landfills sooner.
  • 2. It lowers your carbon footprint as well as lowering that in the manufacturing industry.
    3. It conserves water, energy and raw materials.
  • 4. It reduces pollution
  • Economic Benefits:
  • 1. It saves you money
    2. It supports my livelihood (a little) and supports local thrift stores or secondhand businesses.
  • Style and Personal Expression:
  • 1. It provides the buyer with an opportunity to find that unique or vintage item that cannot be found in stores today.
  • The "Hunt" is Fun:
    1. It is fun to rummage or scroll through looking for an unexpected bargain
  • Charitable Contributions:
  • 1.  It is a way to contribute to charitable organizarions.

Moral of the story:  Come shop my closet and hunt for that unique item!
