Thrifting with a new one day friend! 

Let me explain.  When I go thrifting, I often just start a conversation with someone.  99.9% of the time, people are nice and respond kindly.  Today was no exception. However, it went a little further than casual convo. It turned into a partnership of sorts.

I found a nice leather skirt from Chadwicks but noticed a spot of something on it.  I said out loud, "Oh man.  This would be great except it has something on it.  This very kind lady who was standing nearby took a look.  I told her I do Poshmark and couldn't sell it like that.  She said I could probably clean it. Then, we tried the zipper and my arthritic hands could not get it zipped.  She did.  

She convinced me I should try it because it was 30% off and I would not be losing much if I didn't sell it. So, I took it.  We will see.  On the next aisle she found a nice dress. It's a size 22 and I need some larger sizes.  So, item number two from my one day partner!

It's so pleasant to have nice conversations with complete strangers.  It gives me hope that in these weird and very not normal times that we will get through it all.

 Easy Come; Easy Go!

I love finding a great bargain!  In one of my visits to Goodwill, I found two brand new bathing suits from Fantasie.  Both still had tags.  I hesitated because the size was 34H, a size about which I had never heard!  But, I said, "What the heck" and got them.  They cost me about $3 each.

I listed them and within a week I had sold both of them!  I made $19 on each.  So, earned $38 minus my cost $6, made $32!  I like that result. A sale like this makes up for the many where I earn a nickel!

I love the thrifting but I love even more when I make a profit on some of these finds.

Other than that excitement, I continue to do the daily sharing and following.  I added a few items from my fantastic haul at Plato's closet today.  One Zara dress that retailed for $60, I listed for $30 and it cost me $1.20!  If I sell it for at least $20, I will be happy.

Sometimes, it feels like I'm not accomplishing much but retail isn't easy.  I have to put in the time and use every avenue I can to attract buyers.

My Poshmark Closet is an important distraction!

I have some stuff going on and I am so glad to have Poshmark to keep me busy.  Otherwise, I'd probably do nothing productive.

This past Saturday, Plato's Closet had a summer sale.  Bring your own bag, fill it with all you want, get 90% off!  I found 19 items and paid just over $18.  Less than a dollar for each item!  

After looking over them carefully, there are 3 items I may add to the mystery box or use them as giveaways.  May is the important word in that sentence.  It has a lot power that word.  It is one of the most indecisive words in the English language. It's a halfway promise and a way out of that promise all at the same time.  So, you sound hopeful and good but under the surface you are crossing your fingers you do not have to do it.  Like, I may make the meeting on watching  paint dry on Tuesday.  Everyone has your halfway promise and are hopeful you will be there.  On the other hand, you have a wry smile on your face because you know you are not going!

I did find a Zara dress and an athletic jacket that is really nice. All in all, it was a good haul.

My sales have been better lately.  I guess the change keeping people from updating their items using bots has allowed more exposure for us small fries. 

I also calculated how much I have spent so far this year and how much I have made.  Good news- I am in the black!

This is the easiest and most enjoyable "hobby" I have ever had.  It's very easy to do. It's better than a yard sale!  So, come join me and have a little fun and make a little money.

I'm leaning NO on using an AI virtual model

Here are my reasons:

1. It does not interpret details

2.  Color may be off especially with greys and blacks

3. It won't take strapless items, bathing suit tops/bottoms, or underwear

4.  It gets the wrong style

5.  Right now, it is only available on the web for me because my phone is android.

So, for the time being, I guess I will do what I can with the free trial.  It's not worth spending 90 dollars a year for a few hundred items especially if they do not represent the item well.

 AI Virtual Model- Is it worth more than a free trial?

55I thought I'd give it a go on Photoroom.  A 7-day free trial to take my photo and have it shown on a virtual model.  The idea is it should show your item on a nice-looking model so it will produce a nice cover shot for the product.

So, what do you think?  Not bad.

I discovered that it there is a cut out or off the shoulder, it may not work.  Bathing suit or sports bras and/or separate bikini bottoms do not go wither.  It will say the item is inappropriate to use.

Shoes- nope.  Not if you want them to look right.

Regular tops sweaters, dresses, sweats, joggers... seem to turn out ok.  I am hoping to get a better pix of some of my pricier items in my closet.
