Beanie Babies? Rare or not? Mostly NOT!
My fantastic adventure at the SPCA thrift store that benefits our fur babies in need of a home yielded about a dozen Beanie Babies. I could not believe my eyes when I first investigated them on Google. People are listing some that are not rare at all for 3,000 and more!
So, I did the research. Don't be fooled/ Very few are rare and worth a few hundred dollars. Most are common and only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
There are several generations and usually first thru third genrations are more sought after than 4th and up.
The Hang tag changes from generation to generation. The tush tag has changes too. Some sellers are claimng misspellings as RARE but they aren't.
My advice is if you have a Beanie and need to know the price is to do the research on it yourself. Save your money and don't buy any price guides. The likelihood you found a truly rare beanie is slim to none.
Sorry to burst any bubbles! I was so angry when I saw listings on Ebay asking thousands for these beanies and claiming they were rare when they were not that I decided it was helpful to share this with you.
I am using lens to search on Google and refer to my notes to verify the generation and a fair price to ask. There are some sites that appear trustworthy and helpful. Pinterest had some charts that clearly showed the changes from one generation to the next.
On the closet front. I am selling about 5-6 items a week. I know that doesn't sound like much but, for me, it is fine.
This week I am trying to list at least 25 items so I have a chance at winning a prize from Poshmark. By listing weekly, I do get a prize every four weeks. This week it was Poshmark offering 4.99 shipping for my entire closet. So, anyone who makes a purchase this week gets 4.99 shipping. All the other times, I won a new Icon!
Well, I'm off to research my fantastic finds!
